Where about in Korea is the majority of these games?

I will be getting stationed at USAG Humphreys in a little over a month and I would be more than pleased to keep my favorite hobby alive.

Secondly, I am finding different information regarding Airsoft in Korea. I have read it is illegal (which cannot be the case), that you cannot import weapons, and some other restrictions. However I cannot find a definitive source of legal concerns round airsoft. I already have a large gaggle of weapons in my inventory, but f I cannot bring them with me then they are better used sold so that I can repurchase kit inside Korea.

You MAY be able to bring in your airsoft guns through the US army postal service. Any other way is impossible and you will end up losing them It is worth trying as prices here are a lot higher than elsewhere in the world.

There aren't many foreign teams, but airsoft is everywhere here. The legalities are being discussed now, but as a rule if your gun has an orange tip and shoots 300 you should be fine.

One way of getting them in is to pack them in your household goods. I was in Korea a couple of years ago and purchased a rifle from Evike they shipped it directly to the mailroom via USPS. It takes about ten days to get there but at least you can avoid the High prices. . Some places will ship to APOs. But the key is through unaccompanied baggage or household goods. Most posts have paintball fields and if anything you can use them there. You might want to at least bring one M90 spring to get your gun in reg. stats. I'll be heading back in Aug. so maybe I'll see you at a game.

My A&K M249 is already at 300 - 310 fps so I believe that is within reg.

Downgraded springs are in order, I simply do not want to spend my first few days in Korea at customs arguing with Korean police.

Pack with house hold goods... as in ship over with my electronics and such? I don't exactly have any furniture or anything.




Another quick question... is the 300 fps limit also applied to bolt action sniper rifles? I noticed there was a different safe distance for sniper rifles of a certain Joules, but I am not sure of the conversion.

Might be a good idea to disassemble your AEG as well just in case.

I have been deployed to Korea three times and they have never gone through the boxes with the white seals on them. The packers will put these white labels on your boxes that you ship via the military. They should be safe. If you ship to an APO and the word "airsoft" is anywhere on the package Korean Customs will open it.

In regard to sniper rifles, no one is really sure. Some say that they are safe at high velocities, others disagree. Given how easy it is to change springs it would be better to ship it shooting 300 and have a few extra springs to bring it to the power level you want later.

Also I believe the team here runs in Multicam. I have all ACU kit from both the Army and before I joined and was just running Airsoft.

Therefore I need to rebuy multicam kit and am wondering what tac vest/ plate carrier the folks here suggest. I use a M249 so spare magazines isn't really a problem, however I need to carry spare batteries and comms equipment, and I would like to be able to swap equipment and run with an AR. Molle is of course the standard, but which vest/rig is the least restrictive while still allowing good mobility?

Also, opinion and ideas. I am torn between two separate helmets.



Mich 2001 Also is sold in black, not sure which would go better with multicam, probably will need a camo modification anyways



Marine Special Forces helmet, also cool, sold in black or OD. Not sure how well OD matches with Multicam, but likewise it will need a camo mod I think


Neither look able to accept standard or even Mich helmet covers, though it might be worth buying a multicam helmet cover and figuring a way to apply it. Both are light and out of the way and allow for comm sets.

Multicam uniform is easy enough. Tac vest and head gear is a dilemma for me always.

I'm quite a fan of running light. So I'd recommend either a molle chest rig or one of those molle cummerbunds with shoulder harnesses. Both tend not to cost much, weigh bugger all and pack down small for transport.

You could probably find a Korean tailor who would be willing to modify an ACH helmet cover to fit those helmets.

Righto so I have all set, kit ready but for the final bit.

Anyone recommend any specific radios to buy? Any opinions on what is best for the price?

Get a Korean model FRS radio. The american (and other nations) all seem to run on a different set of frequencies. I'd just buy one here in Yongsan to ensure it works with all the others.

I'm planning on shipping an AEG from the states via USPS to an APO Military address. I have a couple of questions, though...

1. How extensively do I need to have the gun disassembled to keep it safe to ship? Can I just have it quick-stripped into it's largely assembled pieces, or do I need to seperate certain critical components?

2. If I disassemble the gun, can I ship it in the same package, or do I need to ship in separate packages so that an entire gun is not being shipped?

3. What should I instruct the shippers to label the package so as not to be suspicious? Should I label it "toy gun parts" or something like, "tan upper receiver" or "complete lower receiver"?

So far there havent been any issues with shipping whole guns through APO but keep in mind that there is a risk. The most discrete way of doing it is to have it labeled as toy parts or something of that effect. anything hinting to airsoft or firearms will almost ensure it gets confiscated

Cool. I think that's what I'll do then. I'm having quite a time trying to figure out what I'm looking at on the Korean online stores! Thanks!
