Put the order down for my M4, a nice king arms number with magpul accouterment. I've got a couple questions regarding recommended load outs to bring to the field/on the field.

batteries: obviously having 2 is better then 1, but should I really get another battery right off the start? planning to run a 11.1 firefox inside the magpul moe handguard because it will fit and is available. I understand to get a accurate count more detail would be needed bout the set up, but was wondering if there are some rough general numbers for shots per charge?

Ammo: What would be an recommended amount to bring to a game? not sure how trigger happy I'm going to be, at the moment I'm just eager to shoot, so there may be a bit more shooting early on just for kicks and after being deprived for so long. got 5 mags waiting for me, 4 of them to be run as mid caps, 1 high cap.

Thanks!

Oops, almost forgot, are there many players in the Incheon area? I could've sworn I've seen Inchon/Incheon being used around the forum. I'm located out in Songdo, so I'm hoping to meet with people from the Incheon area.

We have a few close to Incheon and a field in Shihung and Anyang. I have permission to develop an area next to my home into an airsoft field. Not much there except trees and a hill but with some effort and a bunch of sandbags that could be changed. I'm trying to find enough people in and around Incheon/Shihing to get some games going on Saturdays. To make it worth it we would need at least 6 t0 8 people. If we play in Anyang we usually have 15-30 people per game.

Batteries...

I don't recommend an 11.1v battery unless you plan on changing pistons every 2nd game. You will get a really silly rate of fire which only blasts through a hicap in 5 seconds. You would be better off with a good quality 9.6v battery. If we play all day 2 batteries are a good idea. That or one 7.4v lipol battery. As to shots per charge, 9.6v Intellect 1400mah mini will last around 3000-4000 shots depending on the temperature and the gun you are using. The lipol usually runds around 2500-3000mah and lasts more bbs than you could fire in one day. As for using midcaps in a high rate of fire setup, I hope you enjoy reloading every few seconds.

In a typical Korean game expect to see people going through 3-5000 bbs a day.

The most important factor in battery life is the efficiency of your motor. TM motors are very efficient. I replaced two VFC 1300 class motors that heated up rapidly with TM EG1000s and doubled the battery life for each gun. If the motor gets hot quickly then it's not very efficient since it's turning a lot of the electricity into heat instead of motive power for your gearbox. I can't say how a KA motor will run.

I can vouch for that, I have an EG1000 in my P90 and I can get 3 games in with it and the crazy rate I fire. I would say 15,000 rounds is about the battery life on one charge (1800Mha 9.6 Large Nicad).

Even the 1100Mha 8.4 batteries that come with the JG's last a whole game though.

Here's a test of the EG1000 v the Sytema Turbo both on a 11.1 lipol on the same configuration at 400fps:

The turbo burned through 2 pistons in a matter of seconds btw. When we went to 300fps I sold the whole thing as there's no way an 11.1lipol and a turbo should be used at 300fps.

thanks guys, much appreciated!

from my hours of searching people kept recommending 11.1 lipo's. I'm doing my initial gun shopping at 2roy right now, want to be able to hold things in my hands vs staring at pictures all day like I've done haha. The owner was suggesting I try some other stores for battery's since his current inventory was limited for my set-up. When I go in to pick it up friday I'll take another look at battery options, The battery he recommended the most isn't in stock at the moment unfortunately. Having a good experience with 2roy, owner isn't trying to upsell me on anything, being a good dude asking me what I want vs what he wants to sell.

not into a ridiculous ROF. sounds fun, but especially with all the ruined pistons, bot my cup of tea. I played solely with pump action paintball guns so a high ROF is anything over 5-7bps is fast. As long as I can get a good burst when I need it, anything between 10-20 is more then enough. luckily my "mid-caps" are the 240 round variant, so I can load up comfortably if need be. For me, sustained full auto at a high ROF is fun for sh!ts and giggles.

Hoping I can hold off any internal upgrading till my trip home in the fall, then load up on whatever customs will let me bring in the country.

Was looking at the calendar, next game is in 2 weeks? anything else going on on the side before then?

last 2 games were big ones, last weeks was 2 days long. Unless there are a lot of keeners the next game is in 2 weeks.

If there are enough people who want to come to Shihung I would be up for a short game this weekend. Otherwise I'm out until the next game.
An 11.1v battery will do the following to your toy...

1) Burn out the contacts on the mechbox unless you install a mosfet
2) Destroy your piston in a seriously short time
3) Fire bbs at 30rps+ and simply waste ammo

That being said if you really want that it is possible, but the mods to the gun would probably cost as much as the gun itself.
If you want a better rate of fire just install (or have installed) low resistance wiring, remove the fuse, change the plugs to deans or large Tamiya. Those three steps will give you a boost right away even with an 8.4v battery. I've also found that regreasing the gearbox with good quality grease and checking that the shimming is right helps a little as well.

What would I do? Keep it simple and do... NOTHING. I've made it my policy these days to do nothing to my guns unless they break. If you keep it stock it has a much better chance of being reliable. Also, don't even think about getting a battery over 9.6v unless you do like fixing a broken gun.

i'm not really interested in tearing down a gear box. want to keep my guns running as stock as possible internally, did the same with my paintball guns, got tired of people asking me to experiment with set-ups. long as i'm not shredding gears i only want to open it up for regular maintenance. i'm already cheesed at myself for not bringing any tools from home and having to start purchasing yet another set here. the smaller my tool box, the less motivation i have to mess around. I'll figure out the battery situation when I pick up the gun, see whats available in the 9.6v area, hopefully something that will fit is in stock.

just to reiterate that i'm not about silly ROF's. the 11.1 firefox was recommended to me by the shop owner. my battery knowledge is sub-par at best, no shame in saying it

trying to maintain my boycott of things electro-pneumatic i was really debating on going gbb, but the cost of gas turned me off the assault rifles. my tech experience is all in the pneumatic only area, almost went with just a glock 17 and spring sniper rifle, but i've always been a sucker for m4's.

i've always had lousy timing, guess i missed some good games. i never looked into 2roy till last friday, then suddenly had super motivation to get my gun hahaha. guess i have to wait at home now, maybe i'll see about hitting up a korean team meet if theres one soon just to do some shooting.

anyone recommend a preferred website for buying camo in realistic sizes. I wear an xl t-shirt in america but i swear buying any clothes here is as if i'm shopping at gap kids

just use propane... costs 1/3 the price of green gas and is the same thing. I would get the glock anyway. A sidearm is always a cool toy to have. I use mine almost every round when I want to check out holes and bunkers. Also, the Korean in game limits only seem to apply to rifles. You can run propane in your pistol and get it shooting harder than a rifle... :)
