View Full Version : AEG camo or not?
On one of the utube vids shot at Blackshadows Field, I saw a guy with a G36C that had been sprayed in camo. I have one myself now and I'm contemplating spraying it.
We''ll soon have lots of foliage during the spring so finding cover will be easier, but I'd like to increase my chances by being less visible.
What are the pro's and cons of spraying your gun in camo?
Any input from guys who've done this already will be appreciated.

I have an Aug thats painted. It helps a little. If you really want to hide your weapon then a Gillie Suit and a rifle wrap is more effective. I find that I see the shape of the person long before I see the weapon.

pros: Looks cool if done well, does actually help hide the weapon somewhat, makes it look original
cons: Looks like crap if done badly, weapon isn't very noticeable anyway, need special paint or it rubs off easily, paint is expensive, can mess up some moving parts if not careful, can't undo, if you change some parts it starts to look odd

Don't bother painting the grip or the area where you put your face. It will come off. I use Krylon. 3D camo is best if you can get it. Here is an example:

3D camo does get it he way and can make reloading difficult if you don't trim it down a little in some spots.
