Specs from the company:
• Propane powered! Can be configured for HFC134a too.
• Completely re-useable. Just reload bbs and gas!
• Blasts 200 x 6mm pellets
• Full 3D coverage. Not a shotgun blast or a disc distribution. A full spherical scatter!
• Consistent 3s timer!
• Tough design survives gazillions of throws! We don't know how many blasts to failure, but we'll keep counting.
• No loose parts to lose. Keep track of the pull pin though.
• Easy to quickly render safe for safezone handling.
Well, I got this grenade a year ago and here's what I think of it so far:
It's a cool toy and a fun conversation piece but it's not too effective in combat. It's not that it doesn't work well, the spread is great, it's just that the timer is too long in winter (8sec) and it doesn't work in grass or a leafy areas. It explodes on the ground and needs a flat area to spin and no obstructions to spread the bbs effectively.
When we have played in housed areas it hasn't been that useful either, it's too hard to guess where someone is. The last time I used it in combat against teamZero I made a perfect throw though a window, down a hallway, and into a bathroom across a house, only to find out the guy in there had moved to the stairway while I was getting the 'nade ready!
I would say it's nice to have this on your team, I usually make a show of it of loading it etc for the opfor, it has a good fear factor. But to own one as an effective weapon? Not really.
PS, Why not to make your own grenades (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1th22RkWMiE)?
