Some people have posted (including me) that it would be fun to have a FPS game night on the computer every now and then. Only problem is that we all have different games in various states of legality. I would actually like to do this if enough people are interested.

A) Who's interested in a game night?

B) What games do you have (with legal multilayer)?

C) What game(s) do you think would be good?

I have a quadcore dedicated server that we can use to set up private games, it's running on a 100Mbps connection so it should be good for anything.

A) ME!

B) COD4, , COD World at War, Team Fortress 2, Counter Strike, Left 4 Dead, BF2, Day of Defeat, Half Life 2

C) Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, COD4 (realistic warfare games, very good)

Counter Strike (cheap and works on any system)

TF2 (cheap and easy to play, lot of fun)

----------------------------------------------

You can buy all these games online at SteamPowered.com, best way to get games in my opinion.

I like COD modern warfare. Rainbow six vegas 2 was great too. The thing is I have only cracked one. If we gonna play together, I'm gonna buy

I'm in.

I own, but am not limited to:

Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2: Special Forces, Battlefield 2142, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warefare, Arma 2, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, Call of Duty: World at War, Counter-Strike, COunter-strike Source, Day of Defeat Source, Team Fortress 2, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Left 4 Dead, Half-Life 2 and all of it's assorted mods.

I am up for anything, however the Battlefield series is only good with like 16+ players so we need to organize big time for those. Arma and Operation FLashpoint are really heavy hardware reqs and are majorly complex.

Best bets for us is Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, or a Source game.

World at War is good also, I just have trouble running it smoothly for no apparent reason.

Call of Duty 4 is a good balance for all criteria (# of players, gameplay, realism, syetem reqs). It's only 40 dollars on Steam so you can buy it online and don't have to go looking for it. I can gift it to accounts as well if you don't have a credit card.

ps. it's better to have a steam copy than a physical one, we can follow each other into games.

How about audio chat during games on skype?

my skype is ackmee

Ventrilo is a better program for in-game comms.

We used it during the BF2 World Tourney over teamspeak even.

Free to download and easy to setup.

My best friend runs an online server we could use during the game nights.

The steam version can be installed from an online installer from any computer. This means that you can just install steam and enter your password on any computer and install any game that you have on steam with no cd key. You can also follow friends through steam so you don't have to coordinate servers.

Just go to steam and sign up then send me your steam name. It's $40US so just give me whatever that is in won whenever.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is 40% off this weekend on Steam. Only $23.99!

This is the game that seems to be the most likely one we'll play so gogogo.

1. Ackme reply to my PM =)

2. Some games I can't seem to get steam (like Football Manager 2010). I've heard that IP masking might work to get it, anyone know if that would work?

1. Sent it last week:

"So I just spent a ton of money getting two lenses (50mm f/1.8 prime and 10-22 f/3.5-4.5 USM)!

I had a question about the vista we installed on my system. I'm eligible to get a student upgrade to Windows 7 for $40. I was thinking that $40 for a legit copy is pretty good, but would I have problems upgrading from the bootleg copy I have installed now?

Thanks,
Damian "

2. What do you mean "card"? Credit card? The game doesn't even come up when I search for it on steam. If I take a direct link from the publishers site I get an error. Amazon won't ship it and no other download sites seem to want to let me buy it either. Play-Asia has an "Asian" region disc, not sure how that would work on my laptop...

Don't think so. Windows 7 will be a legit copy so that overrides the bootleg copy issue. For $40 its worth upgrading. I've heard that windows 7 isn't that much better than vista... but if you can get it on the cheap :)

Call of Duty 4 is $37 on Amazon. I have Amazon Prime and an APO so I can certainly get it for anyone who wants it.
How long does it take to set up a server?

playing Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare [Multiplayer] is real fun. Actually I played 1st time on TUE. Several times I've been completed single player before and it is real fun but playing with people is totally awesome.

thanks Chris for COD4. I am lucky
