Recently, I am thinking about painting my gun with some camo. I checked some tips and guide videos on youtube. most of them were using plastic spray paint.

Do you know where to find those paints or something similar???

I am interesting in 4 basic color for camo (black, Brown, Khaki and OD green). total would be 25-35$ right??? actually I am trying to find here but didn't find yet.

Is anyone known where and how to buy those paint???

You can order a Krylon camo set from Ebay and have it shipped here. They even have sets with stencils for multicam etc

sorry "Duracoats Multicam camo pack" is the one I was thinking of :), comes with EVERYTHING you need, but pricy. Krylon does sell good camo sets too.

Krylon comes in the US Woodland pattern colors of OD, Brown, & Black. They are available at the PX here in Korea for about $4/can. One can of each would do at least 5 guns. They also have a tan camo color as well.
The duracoat is for real firearms and is heat resistant and requires a special application process you can do at home. Krylon dries in 15 minutes.

This duracoats set is a DIY set. It's actually called "multicolor"

They don't have a license from Crye Precision to use the name Multicam.

Does the paint work well? I heard the standard paints chip off easily. If they do I'll split the price with you (Matt). Painting guns sounds fun.

It's what I used on my guns. Krylon sticks to anything. The issue is that the PX carries only OD Green, Black, and the Woodland Brown plus the Desert Tan that are suitable for camo. They also have a Hunter Green that is good for Korea in summer if used properly. I have some left at my house. I can just bring that sometime. I'll give you a better inventory tonight when I go home.

A quick check of my closet indicates I have 1 full can of tan, 1 3/4 can of woodland brown, 1 3/4 can of OD, no black, and no Hunter Green. I'll get some more paint soon. It's what I use on my M240B and M4. Just don't paint the pistol grip or the stock where you put your cheek and it works very well.

Does the gun need to be sanded or have a base coat?

I have never used a base coat or sanding, but the tan can be used as a base.

@ Nemesis: I'll give you the paints next game. I'm painting mine tomorrow. @George: Used the tan as a base as u suggested, very nice quality on those paints. Going to to some kind of woodland thing. I'll put up pics when I'm done.

The Brown paint doesn't work and the hunter green is... very green. So I just used the tan and dark green paint for this. The barrel is right up tan. The body had a base coat of tan and then spackled in dark green to darken/age it. Then I cut some shapes out of file folders and sprayed some dark green patches. I left the tip (which will be orange), sight, butt plate and handle black as accents. If I leave the barrel straight tan I will do the clips tan too. What do you guys think?

Did you use the Krylon? What colors?

Looks a little dark? In Urban it would look similar to black. In the forest I think a lighter shade with more green would work better. The pattern is nice :)

I used Krylon paints that you gave. Used only 4 colors; Khaki, Olive, Brown and Black.
